Position SummaryAs a member of Global Drug Development (GDD) IT organization, the Sr.
Director will be responsible for defining and executing the functional product roadmaps, including solutions and data products, for GDD Global Clinical Data Management & Central Monitoring (GDMCM), and Global Biometrics & Data Sciences (GBDS) functions.
He/She will be the primary lead for both GDMCM and GBDS functions, with overall accountability for business stakeholder management, strategy and planning, and delivery for functional and data products.
This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT product managers, business stakeholders, engineering, and data sciences teams to develop and launch data and analytical products that address business needs and drive business growth.
Along with a team of talented colleagues globally (US and BMS India) you will deliver data and analytics capabilities for GDD.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccountable for delivering high quality, technology, data, and analytical products for GDMCM and GBDS.
This individual will work closely with GDD IT leadership, GDMCM, GBDS to maximize value from data.
Strategy & Planning - Strategic focus on utilizing Data, Analytics, and emerging technology to advance Global Drug Development needs and accelerate Clinical Trials.
Ability to create strategy, identify data & technology choices, influence technology and business investments and mobilize teams to successfully plan and deliver.
Resources:
Responsible for managing a team of 17 BMS data professionals and approx.
30-50 contractors including Data Engineers, Business analysts, Data architect, Data product analysts, UX designer, scrum master etc.
; and overall annual budgetary responsibility more than $30M/year.
Stakeholder Management:
Closely partner with Senior Leaders and other business leads across GDMCM and GBDS to understand business strategies, document unmet needs and translate them into product requirements.
As a data product manager, he/she will be responsible for defining data product strategy and roadmaps, identification of product scope, feature stories, value proposition and success criteria for the data products.
Lead the development of new Technology and data products, from ideation to launch, leveraging data science and engineering expertise, and work closely with business stakeholders to identify unmet needs and translate them into data product requirementsManaging and leading data products teams:
Will be responsible for managing and leading the data architecture, Engineering, Strategy, business analysts and product managers within the organization.
This includes setting goals and priorities, providing guidance and direction, and ensuring that team members have the resources they need to succeed.
As a people lead, accountable for attracting, developing, and retaining exceptional talent and directing day to day activities of the team and partnering with US and India GDD data teamsClosely partner with the Enterprise Data and Analytics Platform team, other functional data pods and Data Community leads to shape and adopt data and technology strategy.
Serves as the Subject Matter Expert on GDD Data & Analytics Solutions and build domain knowledge of the GDMCM and GBDS areas.

years of hands-on experience working on implementing and operating technology and data capabilities and cutting-edge data solutions, preferably in a cloud environment.
Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related disciplineStakeholder Management:
Demonstrated experience working with business stakeholders, and product managers to understand unmet needs and translate them into product requirements.
Product Management:
Experience in product management, including product strategy, product roadmap development, feature prioritization, and product launch.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data sciences and solution architects.
Business Analysis:
Experience is understanding business process workflows, designing, and optimizing process flows, articulation of business needs, and effectively designing solutions to meet unmet, unarticulated needs.
Product Engineering:
Familiarity with technology and data engineering concepts, solution architecture, including data ingestion, data storage, data transformation, and data integration.
Ability to work with data engineers to ensure data quality, availability, and performance.
Agile Development Methodologies:
Experience working in an agile development environment, including agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
Ability to manage a backlog, prioritize features, and deliver working software in an iterative manner.
Data Visualization and Communication:
Strong skills in data visualization and communication, including the ability to create compelling data visualizations and reports that tell a clear story and communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
Technology:
Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Ability to leverage cloud-based services for data storage, processing, and analytics.
Hands-on experience managing and delivering data solutions and data products with some of the technologies like AWS data services (Glue, Redshift, Athena, lake formation, etc.
), Tableau etc.

Data Architecture:
Understanding of data architecture principles, including data modeling, data warehousing, and data lakes.
Ability to design and implement data architectures that support data products and analytics solutions.
Data Quality Management:
Knowledge of data quality management principles, including data profiling, data cleansing, and data enrichment.
Ability to ensure that data products are based on high-quality data.
Data Science and Analytics:
Strong understanding of data science and analytics concepts, techniques, and tools, including machine learning, statistical modeling, data visualization, and data exploration.
Ability to work with data scientists and analysts to develop, test, and validate data models and algorithms.
Strong demonstrated experience in exploring and successfully implementing emerging data technologies in Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, AWS technology stack or relevant technologies.
Functional knowledge or prior experience in Lifesciences Research and Development domain is a plusFamiliarity with SAS, Medidata Rave and related Medidata products, Jreview, and/or relevant technologies to support Clinical Trials is a plus.
