Senior Residential Loan Collections Associate

Job Description
Aggressively collects the delinquent residential and consumer loan accounts. Makes initial contact with delinquent borrowers to ensure repayment of the contractual debts.
Contacts delinquent loan borrowers and guarantors that are 60 days or more past due to ascertain when payments will be made and if the borrower is a candidate for workout / repayment plan. Contact is made via telephone and letters. Provides customer service regarding collection issues, discrepancies and short payments. Advises management of situations that require more senior involvement such as bankruptcy, death of a borrower etc. Follows up on promises of payment.
During normal collection activity, the Senior Residential Collections Associate may make contact with a borrower who may advise of a hardship with making regular payments. Assist the Residential Loan Workout Officer by discussing various programs available to the borrower and will request the hardship package be sent directly to the borrower. Obtains from borrowers contact information and documentation as directed by the Residential Workout Officer. Will also follow up with the borrower to ensure complete package is sent to the Bank for review.
Works with Collection Area management with preparing reports and obtaining information regarding loans. Performs skip-tracing searches and review of loan documents to determine additional contact information. Submits maintenance requests to Loan Servicing when updated information is obtained. Assigns inspections of properties.
College Degree. Preferred or Comparable professional training.
Five to Seven years mortgage servicing experience and Five to Seven years of mortgage collection foreclosure or real estate owned experience.
Strong computer knowledge of excel, word and outlook.
Background with FNMA or FHLMC preferred.
Ability to work in a fast paced, highly detailed environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skill.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
